Booting and Shutting Down an Oracle Solaris System 5. Managing the System Console, Terminal Devices, and Power Services (Tasks) 17. Troubleshooting Miscellaneous System and Software Problems (Tasks) Index file automatically removes any log files from the user's home directory at a.m.
The script will first check to see if the value in the config is different than the value currently in the crontab.
If the value is different, it will update the crontab with the new value.
I have updated the root cron located "/var/spool/cron/crontabs " After the update the cron doesn't run at the new time it was set at. Checking the root cron after it has been updated show the modification with the new time was saved.
cron reads the crontabs into core at startup and then will ignore changes you make to the files.
Note that crontabs in this directory should not be accessed directly - the crontab command should be used to access and update them.
